ATCO Midstream is committed to respecting the privacy of your personal information. This Privacy Commitment describes our privacy policy and practices and how we collect, use and disclose your personal information.

What is Personal Information?

Personal information means information about an identifiable individual. Personal information does not include business contact information (such as an individual’s name, title, business address, business phone and fax number) when such information is collected, used or disclosed for the purpose of business communications.
What Personal Information Do We Collect?
We collect and maintain different types of personal information in respect of individuals with whom we interact, including:

  • contact and identification information, such as your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address;
  • neighbour relationship information, such as feedback and information requested or provided by or from you; and
  • emergency planning information, such as the number of individuals living in the household and other information that may be of concern in the event of an incident.

Why Do We Collect, Use and Disclose Personal Information?

 ATCO collects, uses, and discloses personal information to enable us to manage and develop our business and operations, including to:

  • establish and maintain our relations with you (for example, we may send you update newsletters from our management or invite you to a community meeting or open house);
  • enable us to undertake our environmental, health and safety activities, including incident planning, emergency response and investigations;
  • enable us to comply with applicable law or regulatory requirements (for example, we may collect personal information to satisfy the obligations imposed on us by various regulatory boards or agencies in respect of our plants and facilities); and
  • meet any other reasonable purpose to which you consent.

Your personal information may be shared with selected contractors, consultants, affiliates and other parties who require such information to assist us with establishing, maintaining and managing our relationship with you. For example, your personal information may be disclosed during emergency situations or where necessary to protect the safety of one or a group of individuals.

In addition, personal information may be disclosed or transferred to another party in the event of a change in ownership of, or a grant of a security interest in, all or a part of ATCO Midstream. ATCO endeavors to maintain physical, technical and procedural safeguards that are appropriate to the sensitivity of the personal information in question. These safeguards are designed to prevent your personal information from loss and unauthorized access, copying, use, modification or disclosure.

This Privacy Commitment is subject to ATCO’s privacy policies and practices and is not intended to modify such policies and practices or to create new rights or obligations not contained within such policies and practices. This Privacy Commitment only applies in respect of those activities that are subject to the provisions of Canada’s federal and provincial privacy laws, as applicable. In this document, “ATCO”, “we”, “our” and “us” refers to ATCO Midstream Ltd.
